LEFT TURN ONLY

ColorBlack and white
ShapeVertical rectangle
FamilyRegulatory
Where you see itAbove or beside dedicated turn lanes

What it means

From this lane, the only legal move is the one the arrow shows. Lane-use signs assign one job to each lane at complex intersections.

What you should do

If you are in the lane, make the turn. If the turn is not where you are going, change lanes before the intersection, never inside it.

Memory trick

ONLY means only. The lane has one exit and the arrow is drawing it for you.

The mistake drivers make

Going straight from a turn-only lane because your exit "was right there." The lane you choose 200 feet early is the promise you keep at the light.
